Tribune Company execs act like thieves in Scandals
Jon Stone, the reporter in The Solomon Scandals, wouldn’t just be investigating major financial crimes outside his newspaper if he were working for the Chicago Tribune.
He might also awed by the magnitude of crimes within the Tribune Company, which also owns the Los Angeles Times, Baltimore Sun and other major media properties.
No, we’re not talking about embezzlement or other prosecutable offenses, but rather the sheer chutzpah of the Trib company’s top execs, who are proposing that the 700 top managers take home a whopping $66M in bonuses.
This even after 2,000 employees lost jobs in 2008 alone—and even though the company is billions in debt.
